Happy Valentine's Day
Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day! Hannah celebrated with lots of pictures and wardrobe changes.
In addition to giving her a glowing seahorse, we took Hannah to see Madagascar Live at Hobby Center yesterday. I realize it is a bit ridiculous to take a six month old to a live performance, and was really regretting the decision as we were trying to get her to stop crying so we could dress her in her Sunday finest for the show. She had not had a nap all day and it was obvious that her teeth were really bothering her. We decided to try to take her anyway and were ultimately glad we did. She loved the theater - the curtain, the planetarium-like stars on the ceiling of Hobby Center, the people and the stuffed animals being sold at the kiosks. She was so bright-eyed in advance of the show starting. She also really loved the first ten minutes or so of the show, she danced and bounced and smiled and cooed. But then she was ready for the nap she had been evading all day. She did not really fuss, but was clearly uncomfortable, so we ended up leaving at intermission (which we had half planned on anyway, unless she really surprised us with her attention span).
Her other gifts included pajamas and jeans from Mimi and Poppy and books from Grandjackie and Granddaddy.
Hannah had an eventful weekend in the dining department as well. She tried tomatoes, yogurt and oatmeal for the first time. She is really eating well, and is now eating three meals a day. For breakfast she has oatmeal or rice cereal mixed with a fruit. For lunch she has a vegetable and yogurt and for dinner she eats a vegetable and a fruit. I think I am going to try to introduce meat and eggs pretty soon.
Mommy and Daddy also had an eventful Valentine's Day weekend in the dining department. Sweet Aunt Melissa kept Hannah overnight Saturday night, so we were temporarily relieved of all parental duties. We had a late dinner at Brennan's. It was wonderful. Half way through the waiter's description of the nightly special, Tanner knew I would be ordering it. It was like all of my favorite things combined - veal shank, lump crab meat, asparagus, hollandaise sauce and mashed potatoes. It did not disappoint. Tanner gave me a gorgeous sapphire necklace, and I was completely surprised and very pleased. I gave him a new camera lens, which I feel a bit selfish about, as I will enjoy his gift as well. After dinner we stopped by Marfreless for a drink, and then headed home. I slept until 8:30 am yesterday, without a single interruption; it was amazing. I had so much energy all day yesterday, only boosted by the gorgeous weather.
Last night was a perfect end to a perfect weekend. While Tanner tutored and Mimi and Poppy came over to play with Hannah, Melissa and I went to church. Then we had delicious sushi at Soma Sushi on Washington. It was fun to have an adult night with Melissa, as most of what we do together tends to revolve around Hannah. She is a wonderful sister and the best aunt imaginable...seriously. We are so blessed to have her in Houston. I find myself wondering what we would do if she had not moved here at least two or three times a week.

It's a Sunny Day
One of Hannah's favorite books reads aloud to her "it's a sunny day, let's go out to play." And today, that is what we did. We loaded Hannah and the Canon Rebel T2i into the stroller, grabbed Winston and headed to the park. We had fun playing with Hannah and our relatively new camera.
