More pictures

Tanner, Hannah and I spent the weekend in Austin with my parents and my grandmother.  We celebrated my birthday with a great meal at Jack Allen's kitchen and watched Texas and A&M play baseball.  Unfortunately, we forgot to take the camera to Austin, so I am waiting on my mom to email me a few pictures.  We had to come back really early yesterday as Tanner had a full day of tutoring scheduled with finals approaching.  Post car ride, Hannah had an enjoyable day napping, playing outside in her pool and hanging out with Mimi and Poppy.  So enjoyable that she was asleep by 8 PM and slept almost 11 hours.

And just because we did not take the camera to Austin, certainly does not mean we did not take any photos over the course of the weekend.

I tested out my Mother's Day gift (new flash) last night.  I have no clue how to work it yet, but got a few cute pics:

And then, this morning we had a bit of an impromptu photo session, inspired by my love for Target's Calypso Baby collection and my jealousy that this top was available in her size, but not mine:

And this was the activity of choice as I was walking out of the house this morning:

Weekend Recap

Hannah went to her first Astros game on Friday night.  The Astros lost, no surprise, but we did have the privilege of witnessing this:

Hannah did really well at the game and seemed to really enjoy all of the new stimuli.  She got tired around the seventh inning, so I put her in the baby bjorn and she fell asleep on my shoulder.  It was really sweet.  Here are some pictures of Hannah's rookie outing:

Not so sure about the noise

On Sunday Melissa, her friend Megan and I took Hannah swimming at the Hyslop's house.  Hannah loved the pool.  She especially loved chasing Marsha's Nemo toy around the pool.  She was pretty fearless, we had to hold her tight to keep her from diving out of our arms.  I am really looking forward to swim lessons in June.

I am posting this from my hotel room in DC, where I will be until Thursday.  Today when I called home and Melissa put me on speaker phone, Hannah said "mama" as I was talking to her.  So exciting!  It made my night.  Well, that and having a delightful dinner with my friend Catherine at Adour.  I feel spoiled, but already miss my sweet girl and her dad, of course.

Everyone has fun in music class

Hannah loves music class.  Today was our last one, so I took along the camera.  I am really sad it is over.  We won't be doing it again in the summer or fall, because we will miss too many saturdays.  Hannah really enjoyed it, so maybe we will do another class next spring.  I am also sad to not see the babies and their parents going forward.  Everyone was really nice, but I did not really become good enough friends with anyone to keep in touch after the class.

I also think the interaction was really good for Hannah.  She is kind of a bully, and since she is alone with Vilma during the days, she has no concept of sharing.  She will crawl right up to the first child to get any item and take it away...definitely something we will have to work on.  She also knows no strangers.  She will crawl up to any of the parents in the class (especially the men) and try to sit on their laps.  Fortunately, lots of the babies in the class are pretty social, so none of the other parents think it is too odd, and everyone seems happy to interact with all the babies.

Please enjoy the massive photo dump that follows.

Las Vegas

This post is way overdue, but I want to get it logged.  We had such an awesome time celebrating Tanner's birthday in Vegas.  We stayed at the Venetian, and had the birthday dinner at Bouchon.  Based on our Yountville experience, the dinner was a bit disappointing, but fun was had by all.  Tanner's friend Mike turned 30 the day before he did so we spent the weekend with Mike, his wife Melanie, Tanner's childhood friends, Adam and Tommy, and two of my closest friends, Emily and Kate.

It was nice to have a large group.  Everyone seemed to get to do what they wanted to, and I had fun doing some girl's things with friends I had not seen in a while.  The weather was also perfect.  It was such a great way to celebrate Tan's birthday and it meant so much to him to be surrounded by close friends.
