Friday night Betty and Raymond came over. Tanner and I were going to go to a deal at church, but ended up not making it. I suppose that was in our best interest as it was still going on when my sister left at 10:30. We, on the other hand, were in bed by 10:30. We ordered fajitas and relaxed at the house while Hannah was fed, cared for and entertained by Mimi and Poppy. Visits from grandparents at the end of a long week are divine.
Saturday morning Hannah and I made ourselves scarce so Tanner could study for his GT test Saturday afternoon. We went to music class, met Lauren at Pico's for brunch and then hung out at her apartment for a bit. Hannah has now reached the age where Lauren is not too intimidated to hold her. They played, then Hannah slept, as documented below.
Sunday afternoon, after a girls' trip to the galleria with Aunt Melissa, Hannah checked out her new baby pool for the first time. The verdict...positive. I can't wait to get her into a real swimming pool.
Tragedy struck Sunday afternoon, when Sophie the giraffe was accidentally (I suspect) pilfered at the church nursery. I suppose I should have known better than to allow Sophie to accompany Hannah to the nursery. Perhaps a replacement will find her way to Miss Hannah's Easter basket. We finished the weekend with a delicious dinner at a birthday party for a church friend, while Tanner stayed home and graded papers (poor Dad). Hannah sat in her tie chair for the first time (I really should have gotten a photo, instead I will use the one from the tie chair website, because that baby does sort of look like her). It did not work quite as well as advertised, and my bow was not nearly as cute as the one below, but it sort of did the job for about five minutes.
Hannah also tried a bite of lasagna (she was pretty undecided as to whether or not she liked it). She had her actual dinner (green beans) at like 8:30 pm for the second night in a row. Bedtime does seem to be getting easier, at least if last night was any indication, or maybe she was just so exhausted from the weekend she did not have any energy to fight.
I realized upon arrival at work that I forgot to take the stroller out of my car this morning, so she and Vilma have been homebound. So today she has probably just been hanging out in her favorite box getting ready for the Easter bunny (and Grandjackie and Granddaddy) to come this weekend.
